• About Avantus • Avantus is shaping the future by making reliable, low-cost clean energy a global reality • The successful candidate will demonstrate expert industry knowledge, superior communications, and strong project and people management skills • Role reports to the Avantus Controller • Own month-end cash close process • Own quarter-end close processes • Prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations • Oversee the team of Senior Accountants and outsourced consultants • Oversee Accounts Payable • Experience with project level accounting, consolidations, and multi-entity structures • Reviews financial data for accuracy • Proactively identifies problems and proposes solutions • Research and reconcile discrepancies • Seek opportunities for process improvements • Assist with audits, due diligence and other duties as assigned • Ensure maximum efficiency and productivity of the team

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, with an MBA or CPA desired • 7+ years of experience in accounting, out of which a minimum of 2 years in public accounting or at a public company, and 2 years managing direct reports • Knowledge of GAAP practices and processes • Experience in multi-entity structures and renewable energy accounting (Preferred) • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills • Proven track record to work cross functionally and adapt to change • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel • Experience with Sage Intacct and Concur (preferred) • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to maintain deadlines • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients
