Description

• The GIS Application Developer Senior works directly with public health GIS analysts, coordinators, epidemiologists, and other technologists to design, develop, deploy, and maintain IT solutions. • The developer builds complex applications for new and existing complex GIS systems. • Following an Agile DevOps methodology, builds and tests systems their integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, GIS or related field • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government • At least seven years’ experience in IT development roles • Three or more years of experience with relational database management systems using SQL • Three or more years of GIS analysis experience • Experience with APIs, service management (SOAP & REST); HTML, Python, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, JSON, ASP.NET • Experience in platform architecture, solution design, planning, developing, deployment, and security • Experience in IIS and Windows Server Administration • Experience in Section 508 compliant application development • Experience with developing mobile-first/responsive, dynamic, and scalable web applications • Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.

Benefits

• Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools. • Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces. Please be aware that at the time a date is determined to return to the worksite, the requirement of this position may be to report in person to the work location.
