Data Engineer

Description
• Build systems for data management and conversion • Improve data reliability, security, and quality • Create consistent machine-readable formats • Develop architectures for data extraction and transformation • Create data infrastructure and collaborate with teams • Report to the CTO as the first Data Engineer hire
Requirements
• Strong scripting skills with JavaScript or Python and SQL data exploration • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines • 8+ years of relevant full-time work experience preferred • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or EMR • Interest and experience in using AI and automation • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in real-time • Bonus: Experience in politics or democracy reform
