Every step we take and every product we make, is geared towards making the world around us a better place to live. • Our Operations department is at the heart of our success, delivering the highest quality mortar and screed products to customers nationwide. We're looking for a National Operations Manager to lead six of our operational sites across the UK. This is a pivotal role that offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and ensure our continued growth! • This isn’t your typical National Operations Manager job but more of a General Manager role, which will support the Managing Director in the development and delivery of the Mortar and Screeds business strategy through strong people leadership and Operational and SHEQ requirements. • We’re looking for a strong leader to manage, coach and train the management team to develop a performance-driven culture, with emphasis on ownership, accountability, transparency and development of the facility and its people. You will lead a direct team of four, with circa 15 indirect reports. You’ll engage the ‘hearts and minds’ of the of our colleagues to create and sustain a pro-active culture in all disciplines across the business. • You’ll also lead all operational, compliance, SHEQ and continuous improvement activities whilst maintaining close links between Logistics, Technical, Sales and Customer Service to ensure that leverage and integration is maximised. • This is a National, field-based role with regular travel to sites across the UK.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation with relevant safety systems, quality standards, housekeeping standards • Lean manufacturing experience is essential (5S & Six Sigma) • Previous construction related building products manufacturing experience would be a distinct advantage • Experience of budget control and managing capital programmes • Project management experience • Experience of leading and delivering change • Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be a real advantage • Experience of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques e.g. DMAIC, would be an advantage • Degree or equivalent in experience • IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate desirable
