• The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Collection Services is seeking to hire an Accountant Advanced to independently conduct complex auditing and accounting functions. • This position will update the Department’s automated online accounts receivable system; analyze provider adjustments (debits/credits) initiated by the Third-Party Liability Section; implement procedures for tracking and accounting of outgoing subrogation claims; develop and improve accounting procedures, methods and training materials; and confer with the Bureau of Fiscal Operations to establish and enhance reporting of recoveries and refund transfer procedures through SAP. • Essential Functions Under direction, independently conducts complex accounting and auditing work for Bureau of Collections (BOC)/ Third Party Liability (TPL) staff, the Department of Innovation and Technology and the Bureau of Fiscal Operations utilizing the Systems Application Program (SAP), regarding the design, development and update of the automated on-line accounts receivable system • Independently analyzes provider adjustments (debits/credits) initiated by the TPL section • Implements procedures for the tracking of and accounting for outgoing subrogation claims utilizing Microsoft Applications (Excel, Outlook & Word) • Develops and improves accounting procedures, methods, and training materials • Confers with the Bureau Fiscal Operations to establish and enhance reporting of recoveries and refund transfer procedures through SAP • Assists in special projects in the TPL and TRS sections
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting • Requires two (2) years of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting • Conditions of Employment Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop • The conditions of employment listed here are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description • Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. • Work Location: 201 South Grand Ave E Springfield, IL 62704-3803
