• At Ada, we envision a world where everyone gets the healthcare they need. • We’re changing that. • If you’re passionate about transforming healthcare and ensuring no one goes undiagnosed, join us and be part of what’s next. • We are looking for a native Swahili speaking Medical Translator to join us on a part-time, freelance basis for up to 8 hours per month. • This is a fully remote position and we are open to applications from candidates in any location. • English to Swahili translation of medical and other relevant content across Ada’s products, including the consumer app and client-facing services. • Support with Swahili speaking partner requests. • Support the localization team in Marketing with translation for UX copy for Ada’s client and user-facing products, including our app. • Utilize our in-house tools to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Medical approbation or a license to practice medicine in the country of study (or you could be a student currently enrolled in a medical course at university) • A native-level fluency in Swahili AND a professional fluency in English. • Good command of Swahili grammar and complex vocabulary. • Excellent time management skills, excellent communication and the ability to to work to deadlines within a cross functional environment. • Good level of computer literacy (Windows, Google Sheets, OS X, MS-Office, etc.) and software understanding. • Previous medical translation experience would be advantageous but is not essential. • Previous experience of working in a corporate environment would be ideal but again, is not essential.
