📋 Description

• AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Ecological Risk Assessor to become an integrated member of AECOM’s risk assessment and remediation practices • Supporting a wide range of projects for private and government clients throughout the U.S. (and internationally) • Performing and reviewing ecological risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans • Developing Risk Assessment Work Plans and contributing to Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans • Successfully coordinating with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff • Preparing technical deliverables; including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations • Contributing to proposals and business development, including developing scopes of work and cost estimates for ecological risk assessment • Mentoring/developing more junior staff • Maintaining knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments • Maintaining work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards • Must be willing to perform occasional field work, as needed

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology or other related area • 6+ years of experience performing ecological risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting, or demonstrated equivalence of education and experience • Valid Driver’s License • Ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review and background check • Applied knowledge of USEPA guidance for conducting ecological risk assessment (preferred) • Excellent technical writing and communication skills • Experience conducting food web/bioaccumulation assessments (preferred) • Experience performing data analysis and applied statistics (preferred) • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred) • Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead (preferred) • CERCLA experience with Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development (preferred) • Site investigation and field sampling and wildlife assessment experience (preferred) • Experience working on Navy or Department of Defense (preferred) • Experience dealing with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9 (preferred) • Experience working with projects in Hawaii, Guam and other Pacific Islands (preferred) • Experience performing wildlife assessments (preferred)
