📋 Description
• Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. • Looking for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Backend development. • The Fraud Ops and Compliance Tools team helps identify, mitigate and report fraudulent and suspicious activity. • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team. • Ensure engineers are supported throughout delivery. • Work cross-functionally with Machine Learning, Product, Compliance, and Analytics teams. • Write high-quality code in Python. • Build APIs and workflows for micro-service and event-driven architectures. • Proactively identify and advocate for project, process, technology, or business issues. • Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics.
🎯 Requirements
• 5+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin. • Developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes. • Defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design. • Proficient at making significant changes in a large code base, and have developed a suite of tools and practices enabling safe execution. • Taking ownership of your growth, proactively seeking feedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders. • Strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team. • Experience with Snowflake and dbt is a plus. • Experience with Airflow is a plus.
