Description

• Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers flexibility. • Deliver the best credit decisions for Affirm consumers while maintaining positive unit economics. • Drive the evolution and architecture of Decisioning systems. • Champion innovative, scalable, and delightful solutions across the organization. • Establish architecture, technical design, and code review standards and coach team members. • Partner with Product Management, providing technical input to shape product direction. • Foster a culture of technical excellence and constant improvement. • Build APIs and data models to work within micro-service and event-driven architectures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer. • Ability to synthesize complex business, product, and technical requirements to consistently produce high quality system designs and software. • A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability. • A strong understanding of machine learning and modeling techniques at scale. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication – written tech specs, wiki, project plans, etc. • Excellent project management skills – high degree of organization and ability to surface critical information effectively. • Business impact focus, pragmatic approach to delivering projects on time and safely. • Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Analytics, etc. • Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus. • Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers. • Experience with Fintech or regulatory industries is a plus.
