The decisioning system and ML models our team owns and operates help us realize our mission for millions of consumers and merchant partners. •This role requires a high level of technical ability, leadership skills, strong cross-functional communication, and a creative mindset. You will be responsible for building large-scale distributed systems, driving ML innovation, and developing the overall technology strategy for the group. •Affirm is experiencing explosive growth with millions of customers across thousands of merchants in-store and online, and your contributions will be a key enabler of that growth. Requirements

•10+ years of experience as a software engineer. •Ability to synthesize complex business, product, and technical requirements to consistently produce high quality system designs and software. •A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability. •A strong understanding of machine learning and modeling techniques at scale. •Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication – written tech specs, wiki, project plans, etc. •Excellent project management skills – high degree of organization and ability to surface critical information effectively. •Business impact focus, pragmatic approach to delivering projects on time and safely. •Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Analytics etc. •Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus. •Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers. •Experience with Fintech or regulatory industries is a plus.
