Description

• Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. • The Decisions and Pricing Engineering group is seeking a key leader. • This role requires technical ability, leadership skills, and strong communication. • Responsible for building large-scale distributed systems and driving ML innovation. • Your contributions will enable Affirm's explosive growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer. • Ability to synthesize complex business, product, and technical requirements to consistently produce high quality system designs and software. • A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability. • A strong understanding of machine learning and modeling techniques at scale. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication – written tech specs, wiki, project plans, etc. • Excellent project management skills – high degree of organization and ability to surface critical information effectively. • Business impact focus, pragmatic approach to delivering projects on time and safely. • Passion for working with cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Analytics etc. • Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus. • Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers. • Experience with Fintech or regulatory industries is a plus. • This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
