β’ Perform the monthly closing process through trial balance preparation, ensuring timely completion of monthly close checklists and balance sheet reconciliations. β’ Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual external financial statements, on a comparative basis against budget and prior year, as well as any other reports, reconciliations, analyses, and MD&A as requested by management or the board of directors. β’ Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial and profitability reports to departments, cost centers, and product lines. β’ Manage daily, weekly, and monthly financial transaction processing of vouchers, disbursements, payroll, benefits, fixed assets, cash, credit cards, debt, equity, stock options, and general ledger. β’ Maintain general ledger/chart of accounts. β’ Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls, as required, which address transactions with vendors, employees, payroll and treasury, and general ledger. β’ Use best practices to increase transactional efficiency. β’ Prepare journal entries by analyzing and interpreting financial transactions. β’ Prepare monthly bank and cash reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and reconciliations of support ledgers to general ledger and cashflow reports. β’ Provide monthly and quarterly reporting of financial analytics and business metrics versus business plan/budget to management. β’ Interface with third-party auditors to ensure timely audit/review including development of supporting schedules and compliance with internal controls. β’ Research complex accounting issues and develop solutions for accounting transactions and reporting requirements. β’ Maintain current knowledge of accounting trends and best practices.
β’ BS in finance or accounting or MBA and a minimum of 4 + years of related experience. β’ Strong understanding of US GAAP/IFRS. β’ Work in a public working accounting firm is highly desired. β’ Strong computer skills and demonstrated expert level with MS Excel, including advanced formulas. β’ Ability to design, create, and report on complex financial transactions that require management, manipulation, and extraction of large amounts of data. β’ Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems, specifically QuickBooks Online. β’ Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. β’ Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and effectively organize, prioritize, and consistently deliver multiple simultaneous tasks on time and mistake-free. β’ High level of integrity, discretion, and maturity. β’ Ability to effectively interface with all levels and departments within the company. β’ Experience working in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization.
