Description

• Participate in a technical leadership role in which you will give input into how we architect and build our data infrastructure, data pipelines and processes • Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation • Update data pipelines to automate recurrent operations on core datasets for research projects • Build and maintain data pipelines to efficiently ingest data from multiple sources • Oversee any necessary improvements to our data processing and analysis infrastructure • Plan and execute system expansion as needed to support the growth of the GivingTuesday Data Commons’ analytic needs • Mentor, and manage a small team of Data Engineers

Requirements

• Experience building modular and reusable ETL/ELT pipelines • Experience with a cloud platform (we use AWS) and cloud data warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, or similar) • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt, etc.) • Strong Python programming skills • Enthusiasm for working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with engineers, research scientists, analysts and other stakeholders • Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure successful collaboration with different teams and individuals across GivingTuesday • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries • Working knowledge of BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.) • An ability to multitask and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
