📋 Description

• At Aledade, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of all customer-facing services and core production systems. • As part of the broader Infrastructure team, SREs serve as the technical backbone of our operations—applying sound engineering principles, operational best practices, and a strong focus on automation to support both our infrastructure and codebase. • As the Senior Manager, you will lead a team of individual contributors with your own deeply technical background and be responsible for developing the team’s capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence, and empowering engineers to have a meaningful impact on Aledade’s complex and innovative technology stack that saves lives and improves mental and physical health for millions of people. • In addition to leading incident response efforts, you’ll drive improvements in observability, automation tooling, and runbook documentation—ensuring that our systems are not only resilient but also continuously improving. • Aledade is proud to be an open, inclusive, and mission-driven organization where we empower primary care physicians with technology to keep their patients healthy, preventing unnecessary hospitalizations. • If you’re passionate about reliability, operational excellence, and building strong teams, we’d love to hear from you.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a production-level engineer with a focus on building highly scalable and reliable software systems, including technical leadership responsibilities. • 4+ years of hands-on managerial experience, with a track record of balancing production support and project delivery. • Strong alignment with DevOps principles and a mindset of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Proficiency with Linux-based systems and comfort working from the command line. • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including designing and supporting SaaS architectures and cloud-native infrastructure. • Demonstrated success in attracting, hiring, coaching, and managing high-performing engineering teams, including performance management and career development. • Proven ability to lead and support geographically distributed teams effectively. • Skilled in owning technical decisions while empowering team members through delegation and trust. • Strong systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate and reason about edge cases, failure modes, and systemic behaviors. • Adept at communicating complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise, building confidence and clarity. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing across functional teams. • A mindset to "build for lazy"—automating and abstracting complexity to improve system reliability and team efficiency. • Deep experience debugging complex application stacks, ideally with a background in Python-based systems. • Proficient in the use and implementation of observability tooling (e.g., metrics, tracing, logging) as well as refined monitoring and alerting. • Strong belief in data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. • Commitment to infrastructure and configuration "as code" practices. • Demonstrated ability to craft and execute a strategic vision—connecting long-term strategy with tactical execution to align team output with business goals. • Experience translating business needs into technology roadmaps and clearly communicating plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Hands-on experience managing deployment, updates, and maintenance across thousands of remote endpoints (e.g., browser or Windows apps). • Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), with the ability to adapt processes to the interrupt-driven nature of SRE work. • Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable platform architectures—including distributed systems, microservices, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Proven experience leading the development and deployment of resilient front-end platforms for web applications. • Ability to prioritize platform features that balance business impact with performance, scalability, and security. • (Preferred) Prior experience in a startup environment, with comfort operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving setting.

Frequently asked questions

We use powerful scraping tech to scan the internet for thousands of remote jobs daily. It operates 24/7 and costs us to operate, so we charge for access to keep the site running.

Of course! You can cancel your subscription at any time with no hidden fees or penalties. Once canceled, you’ll still have access until the end of your current billing period.

Other job boards only have jobs from companies that pay to post. This means that you miss out on jobs from companies that don't want to pay. On the other hand, Remote Rocketship scrapes the internet for jobs and doesn't accept payments from companies. This means we have thousands more jobs!

New jobs are constantly being posted. We check each company website every day to ensure we have the most up-to-date job listings.

Yes! We’re always looking to expand our listings and appreciate any suggestions from our community. Just send an email to Lior@remoterocketship.com. I read every request.

Remote Rocketship is a solo project by me, Lior Neu-ner. I built this website for my wife when she was looking for a job! She was having a hard time finding remote jobs, so I decided to build her a tool that would search the internet for her.
