Description

• Responsible for reporting financial results, and recording reserves utilizing accepted actuarial and accounting standards, methodologies and knowledge gained through on the job training • This role works closely with management and key business partners to execute on appropriate reserving strategies of low to moderately complex lines of business • Uses best practices to perform basic reserve and financial analysis, using traditional actuarial and financial techniques, including proper documentation and evaluation, to provide insights and meet business needs • Prepares financial reports on a monthly/quarterly basis • Communicates analysis results to management and non-technical users, making recommendations and providing support for assumptions and methodologies • Records reserves on a monthly basis • Contributes on projects using accepted project management standards • Identifies and develops efficiencies in existing processes • Reviews and ensures quality of data used to perform actuarial and financial services within multiple tools/applications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in related field of study such as finance, math/applied math, or accounting • 2-4 years of financial analysis experience • Advanced analytical skills • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required • Working knowledge of Power Point and Word • Experience using Tableau or Power BI is a plus • Knowledge in the use and ability to learn a wide variety of tools, data sources and computer applications • Ability to complete multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner, with limited guidance • Strong work ethic, including ability to follow-up, focus on details and take initiative • Intellectual curiosity and drive for continuous improvement • Strong oral and written communication skills, able to work effectively with employees both internal and external to the reserving function • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment, in both in-person and remote settings • Advanced time management skills and organization skills with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
