📋 Description

• We are ALTEN Mexico, a leading engineering company that specializes in providing innovative solutions for engineering, technology, and product development projects. • We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chassis Design & Release Engineer to join our dynamic team. • As a Chassis Design & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release of chassis components. • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of chassis systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes. • If you have a passion for automotive engineering and possess strong analytical skills, this is an excellent opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge chassis systems. • Activities: Component Review and Validation: Review and validate Exterior Trim Aero/Cladding systems, including wheel arch claddings, side skirts, roof spoilers, aero deflectors, spats, air dams, wheel flares, and wheel liners. • Ensure the aesthetic and functional integration of the components with the vehicle design. • Management of Validations and Technical Requirements: Coordinate and oversee material and component validation tests. • Ensure compliance with aerodynamic requirements and air flow management. • Evaluate and mitigate risks using tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, and validations. • Provide feedback on design feasibility based on concepts from the Product Design Office (PDO), sketches, and clay models. • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams and Suppliers: Coordinate packaging with the Product Design Office, Vehicle Development, Exterior & Body Engineering, and other adjacent teams. • Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the manufacturability of the components. • Ensure that the design aligns with manufacturing and quality standards. • Use of Review Tools and Data Management: Review and modify information in NX (modeling, surfacing, packaging, and integration). • Manage information in Teamcenter and update engineering documentation. • Coordinate the release of completed geometry in NX Teamcenter CAD tools. • Component Launch and Release: Coordinate the release of components into production, ensuring compliance with manufacturing processes. • Manage engineering changes and update the BoM. • Process Optimization and Cost Reduction: Implement improvements in materials, manufacturing processes, and production costs. • Conduct benchmarking studies to identify optimization opportunities. • Participate in initiatives for weight reduction, cost savings, and manufacturing efficiency. • Production Support and Quality Monitoring: Resolve technical issues on the production floor during the launch and series production. • Ensure the quality of components and propose improvements based on defect analysis. • Monitoring and Reporting: Present technical progress and validation reports to engineering management. • Coordinate technical meetings with suppliers and internal teams. • Communicate the technical status of the product to management.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent • 2-3 yrs of engineering experience designing and developing on the following: Chassis components, Chassis structural parts, Steering systems, Suspension systems or overall Chassis (components or systems). • CAD experience with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in vehicle packaging and design of components. • Previous experience with the design, validation and manufacturing of stamped steel components, welded assemblies, and castings is desired. • Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T • Knowledge and experience with composites and composite production processes • Experience with OEM or supplier on design and release • Experience/knowledge with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and validation plans • BoM’s creation and edition • Previous experience and knowledge of physical system testing of structural components. • Experience with component and system design, development and validation including system level bench testing and vehicle level testing for steering systems • Technical understanding of virtual design of structural components - CAE for Fatigue and strength modelling. • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt • BIW in-plant launch experience is a plus • CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge • Knowledge or experience of CAN/LIN bus and circuit analysis • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) • CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus • Knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes is a plus • Possibility of traveling, valid passport, and visa preferable • Intermediate - Advanced English
