• As a UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the user experience strategy for digital products and services within the public sector. • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including visual designers, developers, and researchers, to create accessible, user-friendly services that meet both business and user needs.
• Help your team define the user experience strategy for various products and services. • Work with stakeholders to ensure that designs meet both user needs and business objectives. • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design ideas. • Collaborate with the research team to plan, conduct, and analyse user research and usability testing. • Use insights from user research to inform design decisions and improve user experience. • Lead or participate in review sessions to discuss the progress of projects and recommend improvements. • Work closely with developers and other team members to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and effectively. • Write clear design specifications, guidelines, and documentation for the development team. • Ensure that designs are aligned with GOV.UK design principles and adhere to best practices in accessibility and usability. • Build prototypes and drafts to communicate your design ideas and iterate based on feedback. • Develop solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. • Identify design problems and propose solutions to improve the overall user experience. • Contribute to internal design reviews and take part in discussions to improve processes and standards. • Government Experience. • GDS Assessment Experience. • Gov.UK Design Guidance. • Proven UX Design Experience. • Collaboration & Communication. • Tool Proficiency. • Experience with front-end technologies or development tools (desirable). • Understanding of GDS Service Standards and Digital Services Playbook (desirable). • Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG, ARIA).
