Description

• Integral part of Amgen’s global media relations team. • Ensure seamless operations of the media relations team. • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, agency partners and vendors. • Support the global media relations team in operations. • Supervise Corporate Affairs material review process for compliance. • Manage media team budget, purchase orders and invoices. • Prepare media monitoring reports around company news. • Maintain relationships with enterprise media vendors and contracts. • Identify and assess emerging industry trends.

Requirements

• Doctorate Degree • Master’s degree and 2 years of public relations, communications, or journalism experience • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of public relations, communications or journalism experience • Associates degree and 8 years of public relations, communication, or journalism experience • High school diploma/GED and 10 years of public relations, communications or journalism experience • 5+ experience within public relations and/or communications • Close attention to detail, collaborative spirit and commitment to operational excellence • Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic teammate and self-starter; serious commitment to hard work and excellence • Biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical communications experience • Excellent consulting, writing, editing, presentation and communication skills • Working knowledge of healthcare journalists and outlets • Familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools and platforms • Ability to interface professionally with corporate leaders and managers • Experience working at or managing public relations agency partners and vendor relationships • Ability to think quickly, analytically and creatively to accommodate a dynamic environment
