• Overall stewardship of the Bengaluru engineering hub. You are expected to: • embody and champion Ampd Energy’s culture and “way of working” in our Bengaluru hub; • clearly define the RACI matrix within your team, ensure SMART delegation of tasks and deliverables across your team and that those tasks and deliverables are delivered on time and at the quality expected; • mentor and develop your direct reports, and ensure a culture of mentorship, growth and performance development is established across our Bengaluru hub; and • be the voice and champion for the resources needed for the success of the Bengaluru hub, and to hold the wider organization to account for delivering those resources. • Support the East Asia and US engineering hubs. Enhance Ampd's existing engineering efforts by owning critical work that is difficult to resource in Hong Kong and cost-prohibitive in the US. Initially, the Bengaluru team will take on a supporting role, with the potential to expand as it grows and demonstrates its strengths and capabilities. • Inculcate a culture of safety, quality and excellence in the works and artifacts being produced by Ampd’s Bengaluru hub. There are different ways to achieve this, but some examples which are currently adopted at Ampd include: • Early identification and engagement of all key internal and external stakeholders, in order to ensure expectations on deliverables are aligned and agreed; • A regular mechanism to ensure artifacts are reviewed and rigorously scrutinized by peers before wider release; • Participate and drive cross-functional communication to ensure regular alignment on projects and tasks, and in relation to projects and tasks, ensure organizational alignment and clear communication on the “why, how, what, who and when” of deliverables. • Implement robust processes, systems and best practices for project management, risk mitigation and continuous improvement. • As a secondary objective, be the initial connection point between Ampd Energy and the ecosystem of suppliers, vendors and partners in India. At present, Ampd’s supply chain is significantly centered in East Asia and Ampd would be open to working with vendors for components, subsystems, subassemblies, processes or development projects in India. To the extent such engagements do take place, Ampd will initially rely on you as a relationship contact point, until a full-time Supply Chain Department staff member is justified, identified and hired.
• A degree in Mechanical or Electronic or Electrical or Computer or System Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A Master’s degree is a plus, but not a requirement. • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, including at minimum, 3 years leading a multidisciplinary engineering team of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, System & Controls and Firmware & Embedded engineers. • A minimum of 3 years of experience of engineering in relation to ESSs or 500-1500VDC power electronics systems or 500-1500VDC lithium-ion battery systems • Experience with project planning, budgeting, and experience managing multiple projects at the same time. • Background in industrial and/or electrical workplace safety is a huge plus. • Self-motivated, detailed oriented, organized.
