📋 Description

• Amplitude is the leading digital analytics platform that helps companies unlock the power of their products. • We’re looking for an engineer to join a new Design Systems team here at Amplitude. • You will lead the technical direction of our design system and component library within a small team of designers and engineers. • You’ll collaborate with Amplitude’s product teams to ensure they have the building blocks needed to craft and enhance high quality, consistent, and accessible user experiences. • Develop reusable components that serve as the foundation for Amplitude’s UI, using TypeScript, React, and CSS. • Establish and maintain governance model. • Create clear, user-friendly design system documentation to empower product teams.

🎯 Requirements

• You bring 6+ years of experience in a frontend or full-stack engineering role. • You thrive on building component-based UIs with modern tools like React and TypeScript. • You have experience building design systems. • You excel at crafting atomic, composable, and reusable components. • You have strong leadership, communication, and planning skills. • You’re well-versed in current and emerging web development trends, including styling approaches (e.g. CSS Modules, Sass, Tailwind), component libraries (e.g. Radix, shadcn), and design system tooling (e.g. Storybook, Chromatic). • You’re familiar with WCAG 2.2 Accessibility Standards. • You have strong UI/UX sensibilities and a keen eye for detail. • You care deeply about the technical details that distinguish performant, accessible interfaces from those that merely look good. • You have experience with Figma and with optimizing design to dev handoffs. • You have experience with publishing, managing docs, and creating roadmaps for public libraries.
