📋 Description
• As a Video Software Engineer you will work in the Live Operations Team and collaborate with Content Operations to ensure live events run smoothly. • You will be the go-to person for managing all technical aspects of a live stream, before and during an event. • You will build tools to facilitate configuration and operation of live events. • You will work with third-party content sources to ensure video feeds integrate properly with our platform. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver pipelines, tools and interfaces for managing live events. • Implementing and guiding software development of tools and interfaces for managing live events. • Drive technical requirements for onboarding new customer content. • Create, manage and organize live streaming resources for efficient delivery of multiple live streaming platforms. • Tier 3 contact for troubleshooting live streaming issues. • Investigation and analysis of new streaming technology. • Integrate streaming technology into APMC platforms.
🎯 Requirements
• 3-5+ years experience in live streaming • 5+ years experience developing software in a well-known programming language (python preferred) • 3+ years experience with streaming media services • Experience evaluating video playback across devices like laptop browsers, connected TVs, mobile phones and tablets • Experience with common video tools like ffmpeg • Understanding of video encoding ladders, codecs and profiles • Understanding of common video protocols such as RTMP, SRT, HLS, DASH • Proficient in code versioning tools such as Git • BSc in Computer Science or industry experience equivalent
