• About Aquia Inc. • Named the “#1 Best Remote Startup to Work For in 2025” by Built In, Aquia is a digital services firm specializing in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance automation for the U.S. government. • Founded by Veterans, we are passionate about making our country digitally capable and secure. • Aquia is seeking a Senior Content Designer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in transforming how Veterans access and apply for disability benefits through VA.gov. • As part of a cross-functional agile team, you’ll craft clear, accessible, and compassionate content that helps Veterans confidently navigate complex processes. • You’ll be a content advocate—ensuring the language we use is aligned with plain language principles, VA’s content style guide, and the real needs of our users. • This position is fully remote and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or content strategy for digital products. • Demonstrated expertise in plain language, inclusive writing, and content accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, Section 508). • Experience designing content for complex, form-heavy applications or government services. • Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and user research integration. • Proficiency with design collaboration tools such as Figma and Mural. • Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail, especially when writing for users in sensitive or high-stakes situations. • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate the value of content design to diverse stakeholders.
