📋 Description
• Serves as a technical advisor for the Medicare Systems Platform (MiSP) contract at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), guiding application development teams through the migration from legacy infrastructure to CMS-controlled cloud environments. • Provides expert consultation on CMS policies, compliance requirements, security protocols, and cloud modernization strategies to ensure successful and compliant transitions. This position is advisory in nature. • Lead application development teams through the complete migration lifecycle from existing infrastructure to CMS cloud platforms. • Interpret and communicate CMS policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to technical teams. • Provide expert guidance on systems security best practices and cloud security architecture. • Develop migration roadmaps and technical strategies aligned with CMS modernization initiatives. • Advise on cloud architecture design, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency. • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the migration process. • Facilitate communication between application teams and CMS infrastructure/security personnel. • Stay current with federal cloud security requirements, including FedRAMP and FISMA. • Document technical solutions and create reference architectures for common migration patterns.
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field • 5+ years of experience in IT systems architecture or cloud engineering • 3+ years of experience with federal healthcare systems or similar regulated environments • Demonstrated expertise in cloud migration strategies and implementation • Strong knowledge of security compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA) • Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts
