• The Virtual Financial Aid Officer will be responsible for assessing students’ financial needs and advising students and parents regarding financial aid options, processes, and requirements. • This person will work closely with a small team of Remote Financial Aid Officers and other personnel that perform the following tasks: Gathering and reviewing required student documents, Processing Federal Student Aid including awarding, packaging, certifying, and verification, Performing Return of Title IV aid calculations, Processing Title IV refunds. • This person will occasionally need to interact with students, families, and schools and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the financial aid process for our customers. • Provide exceptional customer service to schools, students, and families by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving issues.

Requirements

• Experience with financial aid management and student information systems; preferably Fame’s Freedom, Freedom FinAid, Advantage, and Advantage FinAid applications. • Associate degree, in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration or relevant experience. • At least 3 years of experience working in financial aid administration, including packaging awards, and performing drop calculations (institutional refunds and Return to Title IV). • Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and requirements. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with schools, students, families, and staff. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
