• Operating within our Renewables team as a Senior Engineer, you will undertake design and studies, including technical specifications for designs and contractual documentation for clients and lead projects as appropriate. • Engage with renewable energy developers and provide services to the wider energy industry including energy storage and utility clients, in the UK and internationally. • Projects may involve offshore wind, onshore wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems, solar PV, HVDC, and other renewable generation and associated electrical infrastructure. • Role includes levels of responsibility and accountability and an opportunity to develop managerial and technical skills and progress within a successful and growing specialist team. • Continuous development of technical skills through on-the-job, formal training and own research, while providing support in developing junior engineers and graduates.
• Experience in offshore renewables (e.g offshore wind) • Experience in onshore renewables (e.g. onshore wind or solar PV) • Experience in energy storage (e.g. BESS) • Experience with submarine cable systems • Experience in HVDC • Experience in power systems analysis and modelling (steady-state/dynamic) using industry standard software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD, ETAP, CYMCap. • Knowledge of UK grid compliance (e.g G5/5, P28) • Understanding of UK grid connection process • Working towards or achieved Chartered MIET membership or chartership of another appropriate leading UK engineering institution (desired) • Understanding of UK HSE legislation, Risk and CDM management • Ability to travel to meet clients when necessary.
