📋 Description

• We have an opportunity for a mid-level Backend Software Engineer to join our growing product business. • In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing backend web systems, primarily working with Python-based frameworks. • You will also work as part of cross-functional teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, delivery, and fellow engineers. • In addition to supporting established software systems, you will also contribute to new product development initiatives. • The role will suit a mid-level software engineer with a growth mindset who enjoys a challenge and is excited to develop their skills in a new environment. • Ideally you’ll have experience working as part of cross-functional product delivery teams in early stage environments and an appreciation for customer and market needs.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience working as a mid-level software engineer, ideally within an early stage product environment. • Experience working with Python, especially a web framework like Django, Flask or FastAPI. • Experience working with SQL databases, such as sqlite or Postgres and basic knowledge of SQL and database querying. • Flexibility to perform a diverse range of tasks, from supporting existing software systems to building entirely new products. • An understanding that software needs to respond to customer and market needs. • Experience with basic software development and agile tooling like Git, Jira. • An understanding of the hardware and software components of web applications, especially those deployed on AWS. • Experience working as a part of cross functional teams. Capable of collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, delivery, and other engineers. • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. CircleCI) or infrastructure as code (e.g. CDK, Terraform) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
