• Performing annual staff Performance Development Plan reviews and makes recommendations when required. • Approving, monitoring, and tracking department vacation, sick days, and remote workdays for direct reports. • Providing a work environment that is supportive of the productivity & morale of all staff. • Conducting process and needs assessments, initiating and implementing initiatives for continuous improvement. • Coordinating and launching new Epic Accounting initiatives, and acts as Epic Accounting subject matter expert for inter-department initiatives as required. • Managing Epic Training and Onboarding processes for new and acquired Accounting hires. • Getting stuff done by proactively seeking out ways to show how helpful you are!
• Undergraduate University Diploma or Degree, preferably in technology or business, or equivalent experience. • Minimum 5-10 years experience as a staff accountant or bookkeeper with full cycle knowledge. • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the accounting department at an Epic insurance agency. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Accounting certification such as Chartered Professional Accountant, or working towards, an asset.
