• Manage the Foundation for Black Communities' Strategic Initiatives portfolio • Oversee current projects and develop new cross-disciplinary strategies • Play a crucial role in informing the Foundation’s research and policy focus areas • Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that align with the Foundation's mission and goals • Identify and evaluate new opportunities for cross-disciplinary projects • Develop comprehensive project plans, including goals, timelines, and resource requirements • Oversee the management of ongoing strategic initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and within budget • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit and charitable organizations • Engage with external stakeholders, including community leaders, government agencies, and other partners • Act as a liaison between the Foundation and its partners to foster collaboration and support • Work closely with Foundation staff and directors to align strategic initiatives with overall organizational goals • Identify and secure resources including partnerships necessary for the successful implementation of strategic initiatives • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of strategic initiatives • Advocate for policies and practices that support the Foundation's mission and strategic goals
• Proven ability to manage and mentor teams • Experience in project and/or program management, development, planning, and evaluation • Strong partnership and relationship management skills • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills • Experience with disbursing resources and managing budgets • Strong analytical and evaluative skills • Knowledge of the charitable sector and key issues • Proficiency in grant-making processes and the ability to prepare and review reports/financials • Ability to build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders including strategic partners • Confident public speaking and community convening skills • Strong analytical, research, and report writing skills • Experience in anti-oppression, decolonization, and anti-racism frameworks
