β€’ Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties β€’ The Senior System Engineer shall provide advanced expertise to design, deploy, and maintain the organization?s IT infrastructure β€’ This individual shall be responsible to lead complex projects, optimize systems for maximum performance and reliability, and implement security measures to protect organizational data β€’ The Senior System Engineer will serve as a technical mentor to junior staff and collaborate closely with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives β€’ Additionally, the role includes developing and enforcing best practices for system management and contributing to strategic IT initiatives β€’ This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role

🎯 Requirements

β€’ High School diploma or equivalent required β€’ Bachelor's degree in a field of study relevant to the current position is preferred β€’ Minimum 4-8 years of experience in a similar or related role required β€’ Two or more current, industry standard certifications preferred (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, Microsoft 365 Teams Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design, Citrix Certified Associate (CCA), etc.) β€’ Extensive knowledge of multiple operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux distributions) β€’ Extensive knowledge of VMware, Citrix, and Windows virtual technologies β€’ Strong understanding of networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, and network protocols β€’ Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and system management β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex system issues effectively β€’ Excellent leadership abilities with strong oral and written communication skills for collaboration across teams β€’ Ability to develop long-term strategies for system architecture and technology integration β€’ Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and evolving business requirements β€’ Effective oral and written communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams β€’ Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment β€’ Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service β€’ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project activities simultaneously β€’ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing technologies and business needs β€’ Accepts ownership and welcomes responsibility
