Description

• Intern: Data Engineer at Bayer Crop Science's Digital Farming arm • Deliver sustainable digital solutions using the latest agronomic science and data science • Work with subject matter experts to align and anonymize geospatial data assets • Unlock the value of data for the next generation of digital ag solutions

Requirements

• Dual enrolled at UIUC in computer science and crop science degreed program (upper-level BS or MS) • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Java, Scala, Python or Javascript) • Experience utilizing and aligning geospatial data assets • Experience with relational databases and SQL • Prior internship as a Data Engineer at a Digital Agriculture company • A solid foundation in data/ computer science, with strong competencies in developing data pipelines • GIS experience working with vector and raster-based data assets • Experience with GIS tools • Experience utilizing agronomic data assets, such as weather and soil data • Strong curiosity, ownership, problem-solving skills and ability to adapt and learn quickly
