📋 Description

• BayNova is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team supporting an important government customer in a remote / work from home role. • BayNova supports a government customer in the operations and maintenance of their IT infrastructure. • This means our team includes System and Storage Engineers, DBA’s, Platform Support and even a 24x7 operations staff. • We act as technical subject matter experts for complex customer environments. • We build customer relationships in order to understand unique customer needs and provide technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of customer environments. • One of your key tasks will be the daily operations and maintenance of our Cisco UCS blade infrastructure. • These blades house the majority of our virtual workload in the range of 1200+ servers and virtual desktops.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5-10 years’ related experience with minimum of 5 years administrating and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment with a focus / ownership of Cisco UCS blades or similar enterprise class blade systems. • Proven experience building and supporting VMware HA/DRS/SRM enterprise environments. • Solid and proven experience in either Windows or Linux system administration. • Ability to solve complex problems spanning multiple technologies and disciplines. • Methodical approach to change execution and implementation. • Demonstrated history of developing documentation and operational process. • Ability to take ownership of issue analysis and resolution efforts and commitment to resolve technical issues in a 24x7 environment. • Proven experience writing scripts in Powershell or other scripting languages in support of daily administration and automation (Desired). • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM or MECM) (Desired).
