• The Associate Risk Control Specialist position is a training position with Wright Risk Management. • This position will combine the administrative aspects of tracking and monitoring of risk management risk review reports and consultative work with risk management field work. • The primary responsibility is to undergo administrative training to provide risk evaluations for NYMIR clients and agency partners. • Risk evaluations include assessments of municipal facilities and operations to address exposures and develop recommendations. • Conduct specialized training and seminars to members for loss prevention efforts. • Field visits require planning to complete assessments over a wide geographic area in a timely manner.
• BS/BA degree or working towards one. • Occupational/industrial/Commercial safety, environmental, emergency management, engineering, fire science or safety related degree preferred. • Attainment of Associate in Risk Management, (ARM), Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities, (ARM-P) and/or Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desired. • 1-3 years of public sector and/or private sector loss control or risk management experience. • Consideration will be given to college graduates with compatible skillset. • General risk control policies, practices and procedures, with a concentration in property and casualty exposures. • Current knowledge of state and federal workplace safety and regulatory standards (e.g. DOL, PESH, OSHA, DOT, NFPA) is a plus. • Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, with Power BI a plus. • Strong relationship-building, marketing and consulting skills are required to interact with underwriting, agents, clients, managers, third parties and team members. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective prioritization of work, and meeting deadlines are essential.
