• Job Title: Research Assistant • Team: Product • Location: Remote from one of our current Braven operating states: GA, IL, DE, MA, NY, NJ, DC, OH • Employment Type: Temporary Part-time • Start Date: January 13, 2025 • Duration: June 30, 2025 • Hours: ~20-25 hrs/week • Hourly Rate: $25/hr • About Braven • Braven is a national nonprofit that prepares promising young people—many of whom are people of color, from low-income backgrounds, and the first in their families to attend college—to secure a strong first opportunity after college graduation through a career-accelerating program. • We work with higher education and employer partners to offer a life-changing experience that begins with a semester-long course for college students followed by support that lasts through graduation. • Together, we are helping to open up access to the American Promise, empowering a generation of leaders who mirror the diversity of our country. • About the Role • In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a part-time Research Assistant who will support the organization in establishing a Research Base and Logic Model that acts as a foundation for the Braven experience. • As a member of the Research team within the broader Product team at Braven, you will help Braven conduct a literature review to summarize how core components of the Braven Model are grounded in the best research available at the time. • This role is on the Research team and reports directly to the Managing Director, Research. • What You’ll Do • Proof read and edit Braven’s Research Base (25%) • Conduct a literature review to surface relevant research that underpins the Braven Model (45%) • Analyze data to test hypotheses (20%) • Support communication (10%)
• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field or work experience that demonstrates expertise in quantitative analysis • 1-2 years of research experience, preferred in the college-to-career space • Advanced spreadsheet-based analysis and at least one of the following: Stata, R, or another statistical package
