•Belong is redefining what it means to rent, sell, buy, and live in a home. •Join us at Belong as our Controller. •Lead the accounting department ensuring financial reporting is complete and accurate. •Own the AR, AP, General Ledger, Month-End, Audits, Treasury, and Financial Reporting processes. •Build and improve financial processes to increase both speed and quality of outputs. •Serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and other leaders. •Hire, lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team. •Manage all aspects of external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP. •Support FP&A efforts, partnering with cross-functional teams to forecast, budget, and analyze financial performance. •Work closely with department leaders to provide financial guidance and support.
Requirements
•8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role leading an accounting function and managing a team. •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. A relevant master’s degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Accounting) is highly desirable. •CPA license required, with deep knowledge of GAAP and experience managing external audits. •Proven track record working in dynamic environments. You know how to build processes from scratch, not just follow an established playbook. •Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience leading high-performing accounting teams. •Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to various stakeholders, including non-financial leaders. •Thrives in fast-paced environments and always looking for ways to optimize and improve processes. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities. •Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.
