• Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has openings for Law Clerks! This is a full-time opportunity during Summer break, continuing part-time during school year. • This opening provides current law students an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on, in-house legal experience within the insurance industry. • The successful candidate will have the unique experience of partnering one-on-one with our Senior Corporate Counsel, while gaining exposure to all facets of our company, and receive visibility with various members of our executive leadership team.
🎯 Requirements
• Second Year student and above, or recent grad • Sound working knowledge of legal research procedures and resources such as LEXIS and Westlaw; Proficient in Microsoft word processing software, Microsoft spreadsheet software, and able to quickly master and demonstrate proficiency with applicable databases, systems and vendor software programs • Exceptional academic credentials • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail • Highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills • Ability to take direction and effectively partner with legal and non-legal personnel for projects assigned • Ability to synthesize complex and diverse information and identify items requiring additional information or action
