Description

• Work as part of the Infrastructure Engineering team at BigCommerce • Apply software engineering and SRE principles using infrastructure automation tools • Understand scalable web architectures and cloud technologies • Code in multiple programming languages, primarily Golang, Python, Ruby, and PHP • Assist in defining the scope of projects • Drive issues to completion in high-pressure situations • Collaborate with peers to expand knowledge of technologies

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in building software for, operating and supporting large Linux based web application environments • Excellent communicator, who works well with geographically distributed teams • Clean, well-documented and comprehensible systems and scripts • Passion for learning new technologies or languages • Technical expert who will lead by example • Experienced with Linux systems administration and scripting in Ruby, PHP, Python or Bash • Experienced with Docker and container orchestration systems such as Nomad, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS or Google GKE • Experienced with database, document storage and object storage systems • Experienced with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible • Experienced with Infrastructure-As-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager • Experienced with monitoring, metrics gathering, error reporting, tracing and logging systems
