Description

• We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator with a focus on Linux and Windows patching. • Responsible for performing Linux patching using Ansible automation and Windows patching for a single customer. • Collaborate with the Senior Ansible Engineer to report issues and work through them. • Manually patch systems while resolving automation failures with the Ansible team. • Handle support tickets for multiple customers when not engaged in patching. • Weekend and after-hours availability will be required for scheduled patching.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in system administration or IT support, with a focus on Linux and/or Windows environments. • Hands-on experience with patch management and system updates in both Linux and Windows environments. • Exposure to or experience with Ansible automation is a plus. • Familiarity with Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments. • Understanding of patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, or equivalent) for Windows, and Ansible for Linux. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common system issues, with experience using ticketing systems for multi-customer support. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially in managing patching schedules and handling tickets across multiple environments. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. • Willingness to work after hours and on weekends to meet patching requirements. • Problem-solving mindset for working through automation failures and collaborating on solutions. • Certifications: CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are a plus.
