Description
• Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. • Lead a small (3 to 5) team of engineers focused on building and extending the various systems that assemble and deliver web page bootstraps. • Accountable for team delivery and ongoing delivery improvements. • Partner with Product to shape the roadmap, balancing product outcomes with pragmatic technical excellence. • Contribute directly to progressing goals with code. • Partner with stakeholders to ensure the platform built is fit for the needs of Canva. • Help set technical direction by researching, justifying and advocating design choices.
Requirements
• You have experience in a technical leadership role; and in a people management or team leadership position. • You’ve got experience building and monitoring systems in distributed cloud environments (ideally AWS). • A systems thinker. • You have deep knowledge and understanding of Computer Engineering fundamentals and first principles and how they apply to the modern web. • Hands on experience in both the front end (Javascript) and backend (ideally Java) domains. • Any experience with templating languages will be well regarded. • You have the ability to guide and mentor other members within the team and improve the way we collaborate, learn, and share ideas. • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate efforts across teams in a dynamic environment.
