📋 Description
• As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with leaders across specialties, teams, and groups to set a vision, and rally teams to deliver it. • You'll develop & implement strategies that take advantage of our teams strengths to maximise efficiency and velocity. • You'll invest in the people around you and scale to support one of Canva’s key strategic areas. • Expect a strong focus on both AI/ML integration, interactivity, and other power user features.

• Proven success people leading multiple squads of engineers, including team leads • Ability to run multiple streams of work, rallying a wide range of people, teams, and groups across the organisation towards a common goal • Balancing short-term pragmatism with a steadfast commitment to building the right thing for our long-term goals. • Track record of empowering other leaders and building a diverse team, while growing future leaders • Experience delivering a product from early stages to a full launch in a tightly constrained environment • You have experience working in large distributed cloud environments (ideally AWS) • Commercial experience in a software development environment, ideally with experience in building internal/external SDKs or APIs. • Our backend stack consists of Java & Python, depending on the needs. Experience in either or both would be a bonus, but not required. • Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including asynchronous programming, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns. • Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking • Good written and verbal communication skills.
