Description

• Responsible for defining the data warehouse, data requirements, and developing and maintaining the database schema, data and process models, and data marts required to support them. • Ensures the appropriate use of identifiable and de-identifiable patient data and compliance with data security, privacy and HIPAA requirements. • Provides data modeling support to the information technology teams. • Supports the expanded use of end user ad hoc query and reporting. • Provides consulting support to information technology and business staff on data requirements and quality assurance. • Develops and maintains data schema for the data warehouse and data marts. • Develops and maintains a data model and dictionary defining key data elements. • Collaborates with data warehouse teams to execute against designs. • Partners with database teams to establish agreed data feeds and refresh rates. • Establishes and implements data security and privacy rules in collaboration with security and compliance teams. • Works with the database teams to optimize database performance. • Supports the strategic move to expanded user driven ad hoc query and reporting. • Ensures implementation of required auditing of access to Personal Health Information and other HIPAA requirements. • Establishes data retention requirements for the data warehouse and implements purge processes.

Requirements

• Typically requires 7 years of experience in information technology working as a database administrator or data analyst responsible for large, complex mission critical database environments • Proficient in SQL and data warehousing technologies • Strong knowledge of data modeling and database design • Detailed technical understanding of database architecture and design as applied to large complex mission critical database environments • Proven project management experience • Delivery focused and tenacious • Ability to work through the challenges associated with large complex projects • Detailed oriented with the ability to handle project complexity and detail • Ability to identify key elements and define detailed project work-break-down structures • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities • Strong analytical thinker able to break down complex problems • Strong communication skills • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills • Strong influencing skills • Self-starter comfortable taking the initiative • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment • Ability to both lead and serve on a wide variety of teams • Natural leader who can adapt their style to match the particular needs of the project and team • Excellent presentation and writing skills
