β’ The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing Self-Pay Collections. β’ Ensure timely and accurate payment of claims. β’ Handle in-bound patient calls and review co-pay assistance claims. β’ Investigate accuracy and account review to resolve discrepancies. β’ Maximize reimbursement through thorough investigation of claims. β’ Strong customer service and communication skills are required. β’ Ability to identify errors, correct claims and reprocess for reimbursement. β’ Maintain documentation of collections activity and account status.
β’ High school graduate or equivalent. β’ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and effective problem-solving skills are necessary. β’ Collections or medical billing experience with basic understanding of ICD10, CPT4, HCPCS, and medical terminology is preferred. β’ Familiarity with third party payor guidelines and reimbursement practices and available financial resources for payment of balances due is beneficial. β’ Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams and Excel.
