Description

• cBEYONData is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Architect that will support a DoD customer by conducting a comprehensive review of their existing technical architectures, developing a cloud migration plan, and supporting a transition to Amazon Web Services (AWS). • The individual will be responsible for creating a transition and sunset plan for appropriate systems and processes, evaluating the technical stack for future solutions, and ensuring alignment with long-term strategic objectives. • The Architect will also develop a corrective action plan and lead efforts to assess and plan the migration to a cloud-based infrastructure, focusing on AWS as the hosting provider. • Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing technical architecture for eight (8) legacy systems. • Analyze available technical documentation, system designs, workflows, and current processes. • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or outdated elements in the current architecture that could impede the mission or overall system effectiveness. • Collaborate with system owners and other stakeholders to gather insights on system performance and constraints. • Assess the current infrastructure and its suitability for migration to a cloud environment, specifically focusing on AWS as the target platform. • Develop a comprehensive cloud migration plan that outlines key steps, timelines, and milestones for moving legacy systems to AWS. • Provide detailed guidance on cloud architecture, including considerations for scalability, security, and performance optimization in AWS. • Recommend strategies to minimize disruption during the migration and ensure business continuity. • Identify and document any system dependencies that may impact the migration process and propose solutions to address them. • Develop a phased transition and sunset plan for decommissioning or transitioning relevant systems and processes. • Regularly refine the plan based on new information, access to systems, and stakeholder feedback to ensure adaptability. • Evaluate the current technical stack in use for legacy systems to ensure it aligns with long-term strategic objectives. • Provide recommendations on the appropriate technical stack for the future state with a focus on leveraging AWS services and capabilities. • Collaborate with technical teams to assess the feasibility of proposed solutions and offer actionable insights on immediate areas for improvement. • Ensure that recommended technical solutions support modern security standards, AWS best practices, and Agile development practices. • Develop a detailed corrective action plan to support the DoD customer’s mission, identifying critical deficiencies in the current system that require immediate attention. • Propose clear, actionable steps to address identified issues, with a focus on flexibility and adaptability to accommodate any delays or unforeseen challenges. • Regularly review and update the corrective action plan based on new findings and stakeholder input. • Engage with stakeholders from across the legacy systems and other relevant government teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of system requirements, cloud migration goals, and future needs. • Provide regular updates to Government leadership on the progress of the technical analysis, cloud migration, transition plans, and corrective actions. • Communicate potential risks and challenges early, offering mitigation strategies to minimize disruption and ensure continuous progress toward strategic objectives.

Requirements
