Description

• The Systems Architect will play a crucial role in advancing the CDC Foundation's mission by designing and overseeing the implementation of complex technical solutions that support the mission-critical systems in a public health organization. • This role is aligned to the Workforce Acceleration Initiative (WAI). • Working within the Louisiana Department of Health, the Data Warehouse Architect will work closely with data engineers and other stakeholders to ensure our data systems are reliable, efficient, and scalable. • This position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement for U.S.-based candidates.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent) • Experience: 5+ years in data systems architecture, design, implementation and data warehouse architecture experience. • Architecture: Deep knowledge of system architecture, modern architectural patterns, cloud-based solutions, and security best practices. • Database Management: Extensive experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake; performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security management. • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ETL tools, data modeling, and database performance tuning; experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, and integration tools such as SSIS, Talend, or Informatica. • Development Skills: Hands-on experience with programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript), modern JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React, Vue), and mobile development. • Testing: Experience in designing and writing automated test scripts for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. • Project Management: Expertise in feasibility studies, system architecture reviews, and developing solutions for complex, multi-year plans. • Problem Solving: Ability to resolve complex integration and technical issues and adapt to evolving project requirements. • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities; experience working in diverse, virtual environments.
