• Oversee the smooth operation of Checkmate Live’s tournaments, events, and in-game content • Track key metrics and optimize for engagement, retention, and monetization • Collaborate with designers, developers, and marketing teams to manage Checkmate Live’s economy • Ensure operational excellence and enhance gameplay • Provide feedback on the platform’s custom tournament management system • Plan, schedule, and manage tournaments, qualifiers, knockout events, and special competitions • Monitor live events and tournaments to identify and resolve quickly • Collaborate with federations and tournament officials to align rules, formats, and standards • Track player behavior, tournament participation, and engagement metrics to identify trends • Develop strategies to reactivate inactive players through engaging content and events • Foster a positive player experience by ensuring fair, engaging, and rewarding tournaments
🎯 Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in LiveOps, game production, esports, or tournament management, preferably for online platforms • Strong project management skills, with experience in Agile frameworks • Ability to track key metrics like DAU, retention, session length, and in-game purchases to optimize performance • Basic understanding of software development workflows and tournament tools • Familiarity with anti-cheat systems and fair play policies in gaming or chess • Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Power BI) to track performance and user behavior • Excellent communication skills, with experience working across multiple time zones • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges • Experience managing chess tournaments or competitive esports events (preferred) • Experience developing and shipping games (preferred) • Familiarity with Elo ratings and tournament formats (e.g., Swiss and knockout systems) (preferred) • Experience working with federations (e.g., FIDE, ACF) and tournament officials (preferred) • Understanding of marketplace operations, virtual economies, and content management (preferred)
