Description

• Provide legal and strategic guidance to business leaders • Counsel management and coordinate with external legal counsel • Analyze complicated legal documents and mitigate legal problems • Collaborate with business areas for day-to-day legal advice • Build and manage panel firm relationships • Ensure legal compliance and manage contracts and agreements • Counsel on corporate matters, government regulations, and tax matters

Requirements

• 7+ years post-JD US experience in commercial/corporate law at a senior level • 2+ years post-JD experience in Canada in commercial/corporate law at a senior level • Diligent, hardworking, and poised under pressure • Strong written and verbal skills • Strong business acumen • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with corporate and commercial law • Proven ability to work independently, with complex workloads • Proactive solutions-driven approach • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Flexibility to accommodate additional work demands • Current member of a law society in Canada or Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school
