• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, answering inquiries, and maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor when working with individuals and families. • Drafting Documents: Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents, ensuring they comply with relevant laws and regulations. • Medicaid planning – assist with compiling required documents and information related to Medicaid planning. • Assistance with Trust funding process – Assist with asset reconciliation process, provide recommendations, and create a final draft for approval of principal attorney. Also includes follow-up with clients post delivery. • Monitor case load, deadlines, and principal attorneys email. • Probate Administration: Assist with the administration of estates, including filing necessary court documents, communicating with beneficiaries, and managing the probate process from start to finish. • Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant legal issues, statutes, and regulations to support the attorneys in case preparation and strategy. • Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and accurate client records, ensuring all documents and communication are properly documented and easily accessible. • Scheduling and Calendar Management: Manage attorney schedules, including court dates, client meetings, and deadlines, to ensure efficient time management and case progression. • Billing and Financial Records: Monitor and track billable hours and assist in managing the financial aspects of the principal attorney. • Others: Openness to other work tasks the management might request.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with specific experience in estate planning and probate law. • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and other professionals. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Knowledge of relevant legal software and tools such as Clio and Wealth Counsel. • Ethical, discreet, and committed to maintaining client confidentiality. Nice to Have: • Ability to pivot and be hands on with day-to-day responsibilities for the firm (phone calls, client intake, lawyer support). • JD Degree highly preferred. • Knowledge of legal industry-specific terminology and trends.
