• Write original news stories around chronic health conditions, nutrition, treatments, medications, and wellness topics • All work takes place within a WordPress CMS • Freelance position • Most news assignments are 800-1000 words

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in English, Journalism, Medical Sciences, or Science Communication • 4-6 years of editorial experience • Superb research, writing, and editing skills • Understanding of AP style • Excellent knowledge of major social media channels and news wire services • Experience with SEO best practices • Strong skills in meeting deadlines, managing projects, and prioritizing workload • Excellent communication skills • Experience with health and/or medical content preferred • Experience with content management systems and project management platforms • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
