• This attorney will use their experience and expertise in privacy to expand and inform our compliance and privacy organization within TruStage. • This attorney will build bridges among the teams working at the heart of law, business, technology, data, and consumers. • This position reports to the Vice President, Chief Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy Officer. • This attorney provides strategic level legal expertise and leadership to senior levels of management in the conduct of company business for TruStage and its Affiliates. • Effectively builds partnerships with business customers. • Delivers creative, profitable, competitive solutions for TruStage. • Demonstrates leadership on corporate and division initiatives exhibiting a strong business acumen. • Has broad responsibility and great autonomy in representing TruStage. • Must provide strong and effective leadership on projects and activities across the organization. • He/she has authority and responsibility for assisting in the development of corporate strategic plans/policies and business plans/procedures in conjunction with executive and senior management. • He/she maintains a highly visible corporate presence and countenance that inspires trust and invites consultation from persons both inside and outside TruStage.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or L.L.B. Degree and continuing legal education within areas of specialty and responsibility. • Authorized to practice law in the State of Wisconsin or applicable jurisdiction. • Generally, up to ten years of legal experience with overall expert status in privacy, cybersecurity, and/or artificial intelligence laws and regulations, including GLBA, FCRA, CCPA, HIPAA, NYDFS Cybersecurity Regulation, Colorado ECDIS, and others. • In-depth knowledge of TruStage products, programs, operations, policies and strategies gained through experience. • In-depth knowledge of credit union marketplace. • In-depth knowledge of area of expertise gained through experience in the insurance and/or financial services industries and formal education. • Ability to recognize current and anticipate future developments in the legal environment, marketplace and TruStage products, programs and operations. • Ability to understand and use economic, financial, and industry data to appropriately balance business opportunities and legal risks. • Ability to interact with clients and other parties in a manner that inspires a high degree of trust, invites consultation and promotes communication. • Significant degree of business acumen to enable attorney to evaluate and propose alternatives that are not only legally permissible but which also make sense from a business standpoint. • Strong analytical skills, creativity and significant experience in analyzing and providing practical, effective solutions to significant, complex transactions and issues. • Ability to lead by influence and cross-functionally, organize and coordinate committees, work groups, project teams and/or task forces and effectively access TruStage resources. • Ability to negotiate, clearly communicate and to persuade others.
