• Work closely with operational management to maintain an understanding of translation products and processes, including products under development. • Establish contact with key personnel and decision makers in current and potential client organizations where document translations are utilized. • Prepare timely and accurate cost quotations to clients. • Prepare and issue supplier work orders in accordance with established ISO processes. • Gather accurate project scope and provide proper project context to ensure high-quality output from vendors. • Manage end-to-end localization projects including risk mitigation and change management. • Coordinate internal and external suppliers and resources for assigned projects. • Coordinate proofing and editing of projects for completeness, formatting accuracy, and linguistic quality on individual projects. • Ensure projects are completed and delivered to clients in a timely manner with utmost attention to quality, following all established department and company ISO-documented quality processes. • Ensure processes used meet all client and vendor contractual requirements. • Help control departmental costs through effective rate negotiations with vendors. • Use project management software to maximize production and quality to manage costs. • Initiate client billing and vendor payments. • Monitor and maintain real-time project tracking records. • Provide professional and courteous service to clients and provide client education in localization best practices and use of tools and systems. • Maintain accurate and complete electronic project records and project file archives. • Maintain effective vendor relationships to ensure quality product delivery. • Choose effective and low-risk workflows for each project to help ensure lowest cost while maintaining highest customer quality. • Create accurate project plans and risk assessments for internal and client use. • Determine sales potential through inquiry, observation, or research.
• Minimum of three to five years of localization project management experience preferably in areas of document translation and/or web and xml content/multimedia localization, with experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and advanced knowledge of CAT tools. • Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation or directly related field from an accredited institution is preferred. • Any equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
