• Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing and hearing consumers • Provide accurate meaning-for-meaning interpretation using ASL • Keep all medical information strictly confidential • Follow the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct • Render the message faithfully, always conveying the content and spirit of the speaker • Strive to maintain high professional standards through participation in workshops and reading • Function in a manner appropriate to each interpreted situation
• Complete proficiency in ASL • Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) • Knowledge of the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct • Self-motivated with good customer service skills • Able to work well with minimal supervision • Good judgment and problem-solving abilities • Strong attention to detail • Ability to plan ahead and maintain a flexible work schedule • Strong coaching, development and communication skills • Experience using MS Office and other related software and systems (e.g., Internet and Intranet applications)
